So, on approaching the final movements of this album, I wanted to embrace this idea of an individual coming to terms with the state of the world and them moving beyond that. I would have found it rather insulting after all the things addressed in the album that I cop out with some Disney platitude like ‘well if we have hope, everything will be just dandy!’ For example, people do work minimum wage jobs for years to find one day they are made redundant and suddenly do not have a place to live, and do struggle to get their life together again after that. To deny that this happens after you do some trivial thing is to deny life. But what I wanted to is to say that despite all this misery, you have power in your existence and you can use that power, no matter your situation.
