'invisible cities' captures the uncanny and how it comes about through the process of layering, re-appropriation and dismantling of imagery. Initially imagined as a book constituted of super8 stills, following the limitation of the upward and downward gaze only, 'invisible cities' evolved into an exercise of gathering and concentrating. With the moving image as the basis for its motivation, the accompanying imagery attaches various modes of practice some of which include illustration, collage and sculpture.
Accompanying the edition is a 16 track cassette that developed out of a 3 week period of residence at La Station in Aubervilliers, Paris.
The cassette acts as a fragmentary soundtrack to the book, encouraging the viewer to assign tracks to visual symbology. The songs were created by the artists as well as various people who passed through intermittently throughout to improvise.
