Augmented Fantasy is a compilation of the 35mm film photography, drawings, paintings, and artistic visions of Dirk Tyrone Peterson.

The moon shone down on us like a silver dollar. Encased by the heat of the evening, my vision strayed to the clandestine stars buried in the contaminated, southern sky. It was then and there that I encountered a sense of self; an inviolable placement in the universe. As my mind drifted further and further away I could feel my fantasies grow greater, my thoughts echoed through the deep chasms in my head; my fantasy became more perceptible than reality. I made this book to let you in, to open a window in to my thoughts. Every time I lose sight of reality I try and capture that feeling, like a moment frozen in time, like a firefly trapped in a glass jar. Every photograph, every sketch, every smile and every tear, I caught them for you. In order for you to understand, I need you to extricate yourself from reality; embrace the inexplicable. I am here to tell you that the vices of consciousness are escapable, and beyond them lies a beautiful fantasy waiting to be explored.
