Clare from Bradelaide by Z is for Zilla
I graduate and move to Hobart. We lose touch for a little while because we can't see how we can make it work long distance. Apparently he visited Hobart and didn't tell me. But I still dream of him.
By now I'm 22. I go to Adelaide for a work trip. I ask him to come visit my hotel room. He's so perfect to me. We talk about running off the next days to Clare valley instead of doing work junk. He doesn't stay the whole night this time. I go back to Hobart, and to reality.
The fourth song I wrote for him is called, Clare. Clare is also my middle name. I have that middle name because I am the eldest of the eldest of the eldest on my paternal side, who migrated from England in the 1860s (Just after transportation ended) to settle in Clare, South Australia. The town still has a street with my last name, and is still pretty much run by my distant cousins. Clare the song has been reworked a few times. Most recently I transcribed it to piano. It's very emotional, possibly the best of his six.
