Homelandless citizens.

Like birds, we’re chased on the maps of time,
travellers without documents, and dead without a shroud.

Oh my homeland, that you are crucified over the wall of hate,
and a ball of fire walking towards the abyss,
like trees we’re uprooted from our place,
displaced from our wishes and memories,
and our eyes fear our eyelashes.

We’re passengers on the ship of sorrows,
We’re piled inside cages as rats.
We’re passengers on the ship of sorrows,
Our leader is a mercenary,
and our imam is a pirate.
Travellers outside of time and space,
travellers who lost: their belongings,
their children, their names, their affiliation,
and the sense of safety.
