Ryūō by Zennyo

Ryūō is a rendition of our first album. After creating the Zennyo album, we wanted to do a live version. With two members in the group who played bass, guitar and synthesizers, we needed a drummer. This is where Olivier comes into play. Together with him, Zennyo advances in composition, looking for the most organic sound, including in the equipment analog devices that we would use for the mixes of our songs.

We have spent the winter in a pub temporarily closed and transformed into our studio. We worked at Ryūō for months, the day started early until curfew came and we were forced to stop until the next day. Many were the occasions in which the situation forced us to interrupt the creative process. We spent our days trying different forms of recording and experimenting with all kinds of formulas looking for new sounds. We mixed our music with several analog consoles at the same time and added the effects from this album while the master was being recorded on ¼” tape.


This is what we have done to create Ryūō and bring it here today.
