Download of the album includes five bonus tracks, including two 4-track cassette collaborations, an alternate "unplugged" version of Heavy Metal Valentine and two instrumental versions of songs before they had vocals added.

All of these songs were written in February 2021, as part of February Album Writing Month (fawm.org). It is a global online challenge to try to write 14 songs in the 28 days of February. Sounds crazy, but it is very fun. I have participated since 2011.

My favorite part of FAWM has been meeting amazing artists all over the world, getting to know them (remotely, which seems so normal now), and writing songs together. For me, this typically works with me writing a song, and sending it to someone to add lyrics, vocals and potentially other instruments. It is an amazing thing to see a song you have written be transformed into a complete work of art.

I wrote songs in collaboration with twenty different artists this year. Sixteen of those were songs co-written with one other person and a number of them were 4-track cassettes that were written one track at a time, with the cassette mailed to the next person to come up with the next part.

I look back each year at the songs that were created and just am amazed. I don't know where this stuff comes from, but I sure love trying to find more!
