Catastrophonic by Zebulun Barnow
Catastrophonic is a collection of songs realized by Zebulun Barnow. There are guitars and bass and drums and voice. These were added to and inspired by recordings of machinery. The structures of each song is based on rhythmic, melodic and/or harmonic qualities of each machine. Each set of lyrics are designed to confront a social problem. The Work can be a response to an unresolved conflict. It is part of the function of the Work to ask the questions and possibly provoke the answers. There is ugliness here and there is beauty. The intentional and the error are blended to provide a unique experience.
