LUCKY NUMBER by Yusufla

After five years languishing on a lightship, Lucky Number - the second EP release from London based 5-piece, Yusufla - has landed.

Co-written by the band’s members, the EP is made up of four tracks - Lucky Number, Too Early for This, Sunken, and Leo.

Expect ambient instrumental jazz - three saxes up front, buoyed with keys & synth, weaving and pulsing over a watertight bass & drum bed. This is jazz, but different - showing the breadth of the band’s style, from ambient to alternative to heavy.

Interesting, yes. Heavy, sometimes. Noodley, nope.

And yes, it’s been a long time coming. Though released in July 2024, the EP was recorded five years earlier, at London’s Soup Studios. It could have been the global pandemic, or a couple of band babies, or a prospective deportation.

Whatever the reason, the wait is worth it. It’s here. Sink in.
