Kuchtenech by URTIC
The duet of Dima Krapivin and Roma Alekseev was formed at the height of the pandemic time, at the beginning of 2020 and was initially called Krapiva. The concept of the group is based on rethinking the sound of Tatar recordings of the Soviet period in the modern musical landscape, fixed in an improvisational, generative way. The guys are inspired by the Soviet and post-Soviet aesthetics, culture, architecture of Tatarstan, which is reflected in their covers and video art.
The album «Күчтәнәч» is like a continuous party: the mood of the tracks changes from relaxed, psychedelic, abstract to expressive and danceable. Here you can find works in a variety of genres: from trip-hop, downtempo to techno, from kraut-rock to jungle and drum and bass.

The guests of the album add even more variety to the sound palette: here are the State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Tatarstan with Milyausha Tamindarova, and beatmaker Alexander (Sigaah) Fillimonov, and diverse musicians Erkin (Vanya Limb) Makaveev, Bulat (AB) Abdullin and a veteran of the Kazan electronic scene Valery (Chak-Chak) Ivanov. Sound engineers such as Boris Istomin (BG, Today at Night, Mumiy Troll) and Ilya Lukashev (Therr Maitz, Manizha, Yolka) also took part in the mixing of the album.
