Planet Eden from particles+waves by yugenro
I was almost ready to release "particles+waves" as a 7-track collection, but, as much as I love "Matrix Sunrising," it just didn't hit the right vibe for an opening track. I wanted the opener to be represent the universe and cosmology -- the largest structures that we know of. One morning I woke up early and started diddling with the Synthscape app on my phone while still laying in bed. I love Synthscape because it's got three completely different audio pathways, each of which can be built upon three different waveforms or samples, so it's easy to get big sounds quickly.
So, the main synth and structure of this track was built in bed early one morning. I imported the almost-15-minute jam into Logic, then built everything else -- mainly the percolating, rhythmic stuff, including the bass and the chimey synth -- on top of it.
I'm pretty happy with Planet Earth as an opening track for this collection of tracks. It is positive and dreamy and slow and big and meditative.
