Founded in 2006, XULUB MITNAL performs 80s-90s style black metal with the addition of prehispanic instruments and Mayan culture focused themes & lyrics.
The name of the band has no exact translation into English or Spanish, yet following the Maya cosmogony it's possible to obtain an interpretation as: Evil entity from the last and deepest level of the Mayan underworld (also known as the Xibalbá)
