Presenting: Rhymebook, a 4-track EP from low kee.
Our first release of 2020 is one full of meaty, gritty textures and undeniable grooves with WUMP newcomer low kee. delivering the broken beat goodness. Hailing from Nashville, low kee. caught our attention with this collection of songs that embodies a grungy, industrial atmosphere driven by neuro sound design.
We start off with a track that's appropriately named 'Stomp,' which sets the tone with its epic intro and hard-hitting drop that make the listener want to grab a piece of metal and bang on pipes in an abandoned warehouse (or maybe that's just us..). This track is especially reminiscent of the groovy halftime style that Shades and others have helped shape, though it has a certain edge to it that makes it unique to low kee.
Continuing with this darker vibe, we move into perhaps the highest energy song on the EP, 'Time's Up', which offers a delicious array of sounds for the ears to feast upon and move your body to.
'Surface' and the EP's title track, 'Rhymebook,' send us out with steady grooves and addictive progressions that may make you restart the EP from the beginning for another listen.
