"The writing for Deathbed began in the first weeks of 2021. After a four-year battle with Alzheimer's disease, we admitted my grandmother into hospice care where she spent her last days. The guilt of knowing I spent too little time with her when she was sick weighed heavy on my heart. In my own cowardice, I avoided the situation and carried on with life as if nothing was happening. The tracklist is intended to serve as a fictional conversation between my late grandmother and I in the days leading up to her death."

Wounds of Recollection is the first and longest-running project of the anonymous one-man black metal artist known only as Annos. In contrast of the darker atmosphere of Annos’ other projects, Wounds of Recollection weaves uplifting atmospheric black metal and crushing post-metal in between somber moments of folk, post-rock, and emo to create a sound inspired by a deep sense of nostalgia.
