“I’m hearing Memphis rapper Young Dolph may be a victim in the shooting,” he penned in a tweet. “Shooting happened at Makeda’s Cookies.” Alongside the post, he included images of the storefront, which was surrounded by caution tape.

Fox 13 in Memphis later confirmed the news.

Young Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr.,
released his debut album King of Memphis in 2016, a year after he was featured on O.T. Genasis’ “Cut It.” In the years following, he experienced moments that concerned his many fans.

In February 2017, for example, the rapper was targeted while in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was scheduled to perform during CIAA Weekend.

As he pulled out of a parking lot, another truck pulled up and shot at his bullet-proof SUV more than 100 times.

Months later, outlets reported he was shot outside of The Shoe Palace in Hollywood and rushed to a local hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. His condition improved after he underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds.

Dolph was also the victim of a 2019 burglary. According to ABC News, his Mercedes-Benz was broken while he was in a Cracker Barrel in Atlanta.

The assailants took off with his Richard Mille watch, two diamond chains, a Patek Philippe watch, a Glock handgun, Pirelli backpack, iPad and a MacBook. All items were collectively worth more than $500 million.
