floating above the coastline of Pembrokeshire, Wales

I feel like a puppet on a string
control is not anything that I
can pretend to understand

my best friend is a red balloon
but she’s sad she has to leave so soon
on a road that is purple in its nature

her best friend is a green balloon
hiding behind
the face of a compass moon

but back to my coastline tales
I’m a white glove floating above the coastline

if only I could find her
if only she could break free
of the royal decree and float out to sea
where I’d find her the purple road just a memory
in the puppet master’s feeble fingers
