We’ve dragged a lot of ghosts through the grinder for *Silo Sparks*. This album ain't just songs; it’s the echo from inside the rusted-out bones of the Midwest, a pilgrimage that starts where the last whistle blew and everything went quiet. We followed a wandering courier through those dark, hollowed-out factories, letting the grit and ghosts tell their stories. You’ll hear it in the way the banjo screeches like scorched metal, how the chain-link percussion clanks and scrapes, and in the distant wail of steam pipes that sound too much like a hymn. We wired up banjos with conveyor belts and turned hydraulic slams into a rhythm section, trying to make the music feel as broken and as resilient as the places that bore it.

The whole thing is built around this idea of what's left after the world that made you just… vanishes. It’s about people finding their voice again, not just in the silence, but in the clatter and hum of what’s abandoned. There’s a journey from that bitter ache of what's lost, past the ghosts of the old machines, to something that feels like a shared breath. We tried to make that spirituality tangible, like rattling chains turning into prayer beads, or a locomotive kick drum driving a desperate kind of praise. Midway, there's this raw moment, “Flare in the Silo” we call it, where hundreds of voices erupt, shouting that we're the sparks that outlast the fire. It’s a gut punch of communal defiance, meant to stick with you. The record’s emotional peak comes later, when you're just submerged in a rain-filled cooling tower, the sound of water and voices washing over you until it all collapses. Then, out of that near-silence, you hear mandolin arpeggios, thin and hopeful, like the first light cutting through broken skylights. The closing track, it lets you sit with it, the grind of freight-train brakes and hollers settling into a single, worn banjo note that just hangs there, fading into forever. It’s an elegy for sure, but it’s also a rallying cry. We poured every bit of ourselves, every bit of the dust and the dream, into trying to find out what it means to keep going when all the machines stop. It’s heavy, but there’s a strange comfort in it, a quiet strength that we hope sticks to your bones.
