In Arizona, they came busting down the door
Wife and kids hid in the closet, Jose grabbed his gun
In 7 seconds, 70 rounds brought Jose to the floor
26-year-old father, and veteran of the Core
Makes you wonder what he was fighting for
in this country of ours

He's one of the thousands killed yearly
in the fray of a bloody drug war

Home-invasion style raid by the SWAT
They demonized the victim, said he was dealing pot
That's the reason Jose Guerena was shot
Even though they found no evidence of the drugs that they sought
And who could blame him for picking up the gun?
If you didn't know who was barging in
what the hell would you have done?
Would you protect your wife and kids
and stand your ground or would you run?
And Jose never even shot or aimed
As the police had claimed
