Doomed by Winter Wayfarer
"Doomed" is something akin to a pandemic love song. Written and demoed in July of 2020, "Doomed" explores an uncomfortable feeling of detachment from loved ones experienced during the 2020 pandemic. Living in a small town, I wasn't bound to my home in the ways that many others in more populated areas were, but I was still having to rely on my phone and the internet to stay connected with many of my loved ones, friends, and acquaintances; this is a simple and less-nuanced description of the lyrical approach. I invite you to interpret this song in any way that you connect with it, because that's what this song was born from: a longing to connect despite forces pulling us apart.
