Psychedelic Noir by WOM
"Psychedelic Noir" is WOM's third full length album after "Northern Sons" and 2016's "From Abyss, Thy Wrath", an album recorded during the whole January and February 2017.
"The idea of "Psychedelic Noir" was first to be thought in the summer of 2017, when I knew a change will have to occur for this project, a different path, my own path, not the others path!
Although the main flow of WOM's style of black metal is still maintained, every song has a specific way to transit from aggressiveness to calmness, making an average seven minute track less boring and repetitive into the ears of the listener. Also the first album after "Northern Sons" to feature piano even if as a "blend in" secondary instrument (except for Shades of Despair).
"Psychedelic Noir" is not necessarily a concept album, except if the listener desire it to be one, as for the lyrics - seven poems about the seasons written awhile ago - The Ides of Death and Nocturnal Sun represents the Summer, Tears of Rust, Moonlight Melancholia represents the Fall, Winter's Calling, Motionless Self represents the Winter and finally River Noir and The Tempest of Loss represents the Spring with "Shades of Despair, a catchy piano conclusion instrumental.
