slow songs by Will Kelly

This album was recorded in Philadelphia in the fall of 2016. Taking roughly two days to complete on 28th and dickinson in a basement, John Custer (Lord Toru) (who is credited for recorded many New Jersey/Philadelphia based artists) assisted in making this record feel live and gritty. Slow Songs was conceived several days after the last show Will Kelly and drummer John Mitchell played together. The album is largely exemplary of what one might have heard at a Willie/Mitchell performance. Since the recording of Slow Songs, Mitchell has declined to play live shows in order to focus on visual art. Will and John have worked together on several studio concept albums such as Hot Air and "when they're red hot" with Mitchell providing some lyrical content for the first time.
