He was always behind you

He’d push the kids into their very first waves,

Leading by example, he guided the way
for how we treated each other
and how together we’d stay.

He knew just about everyone out there,
from every young girl to every old man,
all for whom he cared.

When we were worried or strained,
we’d see him free as a bird….
He’d have Jake on his shoulder,
and Josh on the other,
and our stress was cured.

All he did was he gave
And never asked a thing
He gave all he had so that when he was gone
His love would still ring.
