Winter tells an ancient story, gathered in the firelight
Celebrate the passing solstice, warmth back in the sun

Season wood beside the cabin, evenings rich with parables
Hands are fast with bands of linen, spring time has begun

They will sacrifice the trees
Forcing nature to its knees
Full stomachs all round for now
Oh hunger, I fear you

Summer shows its hand of riches, fields are filled with buttercups
Tempered tales of new religions, faith is on the run

Borrowed light of waning mornings, sunlight warmth diminishing
Autumn leaves are shed with each gust, return their life to earth

On this hard fought land, with your helping hand
We will suffer your demands, we won’t move
Ancient rivers run dry beneath these swollen skies
While they scatter out traditions neatly into lines
Before our ancestors’ eyes began this invisible demise
That unravelled all our ties to our past
We’re determined to outlast this fleeting fashion that has cast
Doubt on the methods that we’ve mastered caring for the land
