This is a collection of recordings I made on my expedition to the Amazon rainforest in 2019. The locations covered in this album range from dense primary rainforest to lush rivers and oxbow lakes. Tracks 4 and 7 were recorded on a canoe ride early in the morning.
This part of the Amazon is not the most well-preserved but it is still incredibly biodiverse. A staggering number of species could be observed even on a short walk. The highlight of the expedition was discovering the guttural calls of a jaguar on a drop rig recording, which you can hear in the beginning of the first track.
Sit back, relax and become immersed in the rainforest. The Amazon unfolds and allows itself to be understood slowly and gently. Even if at first listen this might seem like a wall of sound, there is an infinite amount of detail waiting to be discovered.
