The ghost is not so ghastly now that the gold's made it's chains
and paradise is still a ghastly swamp
but we swim in it like it's always been paradise
almonds fall out of the trees
coconut-flovored kisses and I'm losing breath
confusion can be wonderful if you let it end in death
but oh oh no you must be lost
a lost ghost swimming in between worlds
and oh oh summers coming soon and the sun will melt your frost
that's a ghastly ghost!

we made a nest in my baby's breast for it
a wild wind blows my ghost away
a silly scene to see you say oh oh
when the time stops and the movement dies
that ghost will be so solid, oh - oh oh
and heavy like the lava cold hanging off of the volcano
now the volcano looks like a big black diamond and
oh how look how the ghost reflects in it
the tropical trees mope and then bend
as if to sway to the ghost rhythm
that's a ghastly ghost!
