Manchester’s WDDS returns with his second EP, ‘Wilderness / Reunited’, two stepping cuts packing deep atmospherics and blissful rave tones.
A follow up to the acclaimed ‘Twilight/Crato’ release, which garnered support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Madam X, Jossy Mitsu, dBridge and Ben UFO, to name barely a handful, the fresh work was produced during a time of physical and mental isolation amid the COVID-19 crisis and offers both reflective moods and hopes for a brighter future. Fitting themes for our times.
‘Wilderness’ focuses on exploring spatiality, gliding string refrains underpinned by a loose and low slung dubstep groove. ‘Reunited’ lives up to its name, warm pads, exotic samples and subtly driving liquid hoover line creating an ideal score for the friendly faces, sweat and strobes of whatever basement hosts that first post-pandemic throwdown.
All Bandcamp proceeds for this release will be donated to The National Bailout in The United States, helping end mass incarceration for Black Lives Matters protestors and the falsely prosecuted.
