Some deep dubs for you...
From early childhood onwards I've always found droning sounds reassuring and comforting - the cocoon like feeling that's created, plus the distraction by the sound from the endless (and mostly pointless) chatter of the mind.
The basis of this collection of music were field recordings I made of various air-con units within walking distance of where I live - at gyms, restaurants, industrial units.
The gentle drones formed the bed of the tracks and led to the recording of similar sounds; swimming pools, train stations, shopping malls. The low level reverberant hum of modernity.
When I listen to these tracks I find the small self receding and an opening up to the awareness in which what we consider to be us resides. I hope you enjoy this music and find it useful too.
