Folk's Song from Silent Thunder by Volker Goetze / Christian Torkewitz
I wrote “Folk’s Song” at a time when I was transcribing the music of pianist Bill Evans. The composition came to me on the day when my ex-girlfriend didn't show up to introduce her to my mother. It explains the title: a song for everyone else. The love story still had a happy ending: we had a happy and rich relationship for over seven years. Secretly, the song is still dedicated to her.
