Good Mourning by VLNS Beats

Grief. Mourning. Say what you will about death being a necessary fact of life (a guarantee at that), but for those who have to remain in the living while others cross over, the pain is everlasting.

With the weight of friends and family that have passed on my shoulders, I decided to turn that pain into purpose. And with that, I made this album, Good Mourning. Combining elements of ways others mourn (Sneakers on the Wire, Sugar Skulls, 40 Oz (4 Da Homies) Will and Testament), paying homage to my elders (Soldier Stories, 4 King Davids, Walco, Sleep, Aunties and Uncles), and remembering my close friends (For Logan, Chew Toy), I honor the ones that have gone ahead of me.
