Neozigguratta by Cluster₈

Around 2005 or so I began experimenting with some electronic music. Although I guess most of my music is from electronic sources, I wanted to work in a more overtly electronic way, with beats and synths at the forefront.

The original notion for Neozigguratta included a second version of the record with the subtitle "self-sabotaged version". The idea was that I would run the album out to cassette tape, and then abuse this cassette tape with magnets, heat, scratches, and whatever was left at the end of that process would be the record.

That didn't really work out as well as I hoped. So instead I just crushed it to within an inch of its life. I've included that "hyperdistortion mix" edition for anyone who downloads the EP, while the "clean version" takes centre stage.

I came up with most of this record on a wonderful family holiday to Loch Glencoul in Scotland, but you don't need to know that really. Still. It was a great holiday.
