Petrified Entity (the coldwave/ebm/gothic techno project of Tony Gloom, hailing from Richmond, Virginia) is an incredibly prolific, ever-evolving artist, having released five full albums, an EP, and several singles within the span of a year.
It is a beautiful crystalline vision, brought to life through a cold lens which brings that vision into sharpest, magnified focus.
Tony Gloom’s demonstrated grasp of chord progressions and transitions interweave many layered textures of synths, guitar, drums, and vocals to creates an immersive lush yet minimal soundscape.
Vocally, Petrified Entity has a signature spoken-word style. Thematically, Petrified Entity grapples with common threads of dissociation and alienation, and how these deeply personal aspects of self intersect with themes of power and disenfranchisement within broader society. The interplay of these themes with overt meditations on the metaphysical makes Petrified Entity something very special: a project willing to consider the metaphysical basis of power and self. 🧿 💎

Propagate is perhaps the most rhythm-oriented album, starting off as ambient drone that mutates into infectious riffs which carry the listener through to the end.
