After I finished Traysikel Drayber, I decided to create something similar, but in Tagalog instead of Ilocano, which is one of the more distinct dialects among the three major languages in the Philippines. Each of these languages has its own subdivisions of dialects, totaling over a hundred variations. Tagalog, therefore, serves as the official language for all Filipinos to communicate with each other, and it is also used by foreigners living in the Philippines, alongside English. Many foreigners, such as Koreans, even come to study English in the Philippines, often learning with an American accent and slang. Sarimanok takes a more serious approach toward mainstream pop music in the Philippines, yet, like Traysikel Drayber, it blends singing and rapping about traditional culture and folklore with a touch of humor.
