Ikigai is a Japanese word and concept which loosely translates to "reason for living" in English. Ikigai is a way of living where the thing you love to do, the thing you do well, the thing the world needs, and the thing you can be paid for (to make living) all converge. It is the key to longevity, being maximally effective as a person, and enjoying life to the fullest. I hope that we are all able to tap into our individual ikigai in order to be the most we can be. When I heard the term "ikigai" and learned more about what it was, it was clear to me that I had already tapped into my ikigai and that my energies and life direction are governed my this concept, but now it had a very specific name.
