Debut album AWAKE / SLEEP by VENT.

VENT is, at heart, a solo bedroom project – born out of depression therapy and a desire to explore new horizons and landscapes “I struggled with mental health in 2023 due to pressures of work and fatherhood,” explains Dave, the man behind the VENT project. “Every bad thought I had I wrote down, every time I needed to vent, I plugged in the guitar and hit record, feelings and moods started being more introspective and introverted.” Dave continues, “VENT suddenly became a comfort zone, my therapy, my shadow of depression, my truth, my reflection. Closing the door and disappearing in darkness recording music alone became something that helped me, getting these thoughts and feelings out of me and into a ‘song’ format felt like some kind of exorcism.”

From one-man punk band VENT, comes an atmospheric and aggressive blend of punk and hardcore. VENT is a shift in gears from Dave's musical background in ROTPM, DANCE GRUBER and banjo acoustic punk and inspired by hardcore, black metal and speed punk.
