then compress the mixture just like you do not care
ignition burns the fuel, pushes the piston down
empties up the chamber-turns the crankshaft around

This sends the wheels a spinnin' round and round and round
thank your tire treads, they keep you on the ground
step on the accelorator and see what happens then
more gas pumps in the chamber and it starts all over again

An engine's like your body, it works whether or not you know
filler up check the tires and buddy you're good to go
you can thank Nicolaus Otto he figured all this out
he tried this, he tried that and I'm sure he had his doubts
