The Cure by TECHcontrol

We are delighted to present TECHcontrol debut EP on URBAN DISTORTIONS “The Cure”, featuring 4 well produced tracks with a variety of up beat and chilled vibes, all filled with gear synth melody and machine beats. TECHcontrol’s music is a mixture of Electro and Electronica from deepest darkest Yorkshire UK.

TECHcontrol aka Darren Holmes have been making music on and off for other 10 years and it's his way to escape from every day life. He has always loved music of all genres. Growing up in Yorkshire in the 70's and 80's he was brought up on groups such as Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dreams and the Who. He feels the 80's changed a lot for him when the begin of electronic music started to hit the scene. Breakdance and the music surrounding it was the thing he remembers the most. Along came the 90's and his love of music just grow with the acid/rave scene along with the Brit-pop scene. But it wasn't until the end of the 90's he discovered how to make music on a computer and this fascinated him so much. Electro has been his first love ever since he first listens to Kraftwerk back in the early 80's. Then TECHcontrol first release comes in 2016 on Urban Connections for the label compilation of VA “Fifth Element”, which was the beginning of a continuous collaboration with the label until today.

Urban Distortions takes inspiration from the urban environment that has influenced the Electronic Music Scene and Electronic Music Producers over the last few decades. A scene that has influenced and created brand new sounds and brand new art forms, which are the expression of the new millennium.
