Cliche or not, the saying "It's not about the destination, but the journey," is what this album is all about. Cratdiggin the rarest&dirtiest locations. Hungry, thirsty and tired for hours searching for samples. Then hitting the studio, and track by track, "Forms&Directions" took form. What you get is various beats with different flavors like jazz, soul and funk, combined with some spaced out/dubby sounds. The experimentation with sounds is, for me, a journey of its own.

I used to be a diehard fan (closed minded) of authentic outboard gear related to this type of beats, and even what -and how to sample to be "true to the game." I finally grew up some years back, and after owning Akai 612 with the keyboard, tr-909, 707, 727, Akai mpc 60,boomin' 2000xl, the legendary sp-1200 and the iconic ASR-10 through the years, now I don't care.

For me, whats coming out of the speakers is the most important. Moreover, if the gear in use gives me both a productive workflow, and a sound that I like, am happy. How others do it, I don't care, only that am happy for them if they to get what they want out of their journey within music. Peace.
