That Bird from Prophecies by Uncle Emmington

Tracklist
3.That Bird2:32
Lyrics

(Verse One)

Do you remember when the bird crashed ‘gainst the window
And it came falling to the ground
We leapt up to find it in the bushes, hardly breathing
In its beady eyes, I saw your frown

We knew not to touch it, tried to scoop it with your jacket
With your careful, steady hands
Poor little guy, must’ve been terrified,
At our mercy stranded to the land

(Chorus)

I was prepared for it to die
I readied my eyes for the tears I’d surely cry
But they never came
Never came

(Verse Two)

Its wings, oddly folded, started opening and closing
But it seemed like to no avail
You got it some water and we tried to search for answers
Every minute passed, it seemed more frail

Then you finally spotted that its legs were under branches
That you could lift out of the way
All in a rush, the bird shot up into the sky
Still for a moment, then it flew away

(Chorus)

But they never came
Never came
