The Acolyte by The Nilk

Following the devastating multi-phased single from last month, The Nilk strikes while the iron is hot with what is set to be one of the most fiery EPs of 2025: “The Acolyte”, forthcoming on Unbeyond Anthologies

The EP opens on the melody-tinged stompers “Mystic Incarnation” and “Acolyte”, ominous and energizing respectively. The Nilk’s chops outside of dubstep are shown off immaculately on the frenzied neurofunk bangers “Damage Aura” and “Break”, followed by one of the most energetic tearout songs penned as of late in the form of long-awaited ID “Mother Of Death”.

Closing out the EP is the one-two punch of heaviness with “Containment” and “Possessed”, the former bringing dramatic brostep-style sound design into an unrelenting tearout format, and the latter showcasing truly infernal atmospheres and guitar compositions topped with some of the most menacing basses this side of bass music.

“The Acolyte is the second installment in our protagonist’s journey, navigating the world after their encounter with the formless, the omnipotent Haze. The being is ever-present, and the aura of malintent radiates wherever they go. Our protagonist is headstrong, independent to a tee, yet they are broken down by the hostility and inhumanity of this arcane being.” says The Nilk.

“This EP is an eclectic collection of bass, exploring different styles & genres, further establishing my sonic capabilities. If there were to be any collection of songs to this day that ultimately highlight who I am as a creative, this is where we must look.”
