The Squinge lives!

I broke the first metacarpal of my left hand, which sidelined my guitar playing for several months. I couldn't play, so I dug out some old demo tracks, which I had hastily recorded. The muse didn't speak to me during this particular session, but on a second listen, I liked the "exasperated" sound of the guitar, so I decided to work on the track.

It needs another section for transition. Nonetheless, at the time of the mixing, the lack of a hand really limited my ability to play any new bass, drum or guitar parts. I was, however, able to record the keys after the first mix-down--I recorded the chords first with my right hand, and then wrote in the left hand part with MIDI.

You can do a lot with Pro Tools, Elastic Audio, and one hand.
