The Swan by TRÚ
Recorded in Tree Song Studios outside Belfast, "The Swan" tries to express the confusion and grief of losing a parent.
Largely stripped back to Zachary's finger-picked guitar and Dónal's emotional vocal, the nostalgic narrative paints a clear image of an estranged child arriving home after a long time on the road.
The song is newly written, focusing on TRÚ's signature 3-part vocal harmony and borrowing melodic elements from a traditional Basque lullaby.

The trú was a mythological trio of poet-musicians in ancient Ulster. They were revered throughout Ireland, some believing their songs and stories came to them from the future. Others maintained that the trú were possessed by spirits during performance. As such, they were considered gatekeepers to the Otherworld.
