Newspaper tears blind in both eyes
Vacant stares as they fight for the prize
What to win? A momentary reprise
Rinse and repeat to enjoy and deny

I can’t see through those eyes

Blood and spit tangled up in the nets
Repress oppress too many writhing around
The one percent just the circus trickles down
To the one that’s left no casino to take their bets

I just can’t see through their eyes

Back in the day things were easy – way too safe
To just keep up each day refusing to change
Patterns and slots last exit left far behind
Cruel tipping points our event horizon shined

I just can’t see through these eyes

I guess that’s it no need to belabor it
Said and done
