TRAZ AGUA, PORTUGUESE PRODUCER DUO, RELEASE THEIR SELF-TITLED DEBUT EP ON ENCHUFADA
Lisbon-based duo Traz Agua make their debut with a self-titled EP on Enchufada. Their first break came when Branko played their tracks during his pandemic-streamed sets, which soon led to a collaboration on the hit single “MEL”. Now, with Traz Agua, they find their natural home on Enchufada, marking their first extended release.
The EP situates Traz Agua in a unique space, drawing on Lisbon’s storied dance music — and on the rhythms that played out of phone speakers in the schoolyard where the two friends first met — while exploring different corners of contemporary electronics.
Across five instrumental tracks, we are transported to the banks of the Tagus River, carried by plucky melodies, vaporous pads and subtle nods to the city’s Afro-diasporic percussion. The dancefloor isn’t just an echo, though, but the current running through it all.
The debut marks a decisive step forward, with Traz Agua staking their claim in a Lisbon scene that has long captured global attention, following years of steady underground impact: collaborating with Branko, Bandicut, and Daviaa, releasing SoundCloud bootlegs with wide reach, and earning spins on stations like NTS and Reprezent Radio.
