Darwin Sessions by The Bull Fontane

From original liner notes:

"What is captured here is a spontaneous creation. Nothing about the compositions herein was discussed prior to their performances other than the advice, "No matter what, keep playing." The result is three pieces of musical movement. There are no rights or wrongs. There are some goods and bads, and endless progress. Don't look back."

The concept of this recording was to use musical creation to serve analogously for the process of evolution by natural selection. The players have no preset agenda other than to keep playing; to live, to move along. Things are only "enjoyed" or deemed "the right moves" in hindsight by something outside of the initial creation. The pieces were alive and show that ideas can be formed as a group out of nothing and can slowly coalesce into the presence of order for a time after something comes along to look back. But looking back is indeed never the goal.

As all analogies go, it is imperfect, but it is a proud attempt to help show a subject so deeply important to us in what may hopefully be a welcome portal to someone heretofore unable to wrap their heads around the ideas. If nothing else, it's music, and music is fun.
