Kingdom Come by Tom Maxwell

An EP version of an album originally released on 14 June, 2011. Unnecessary filler tracks, emotional or thematic outliers, and songs which were subsequently re-recorded for Tom Maxwell & The Minor Drag have been omitted for posterity's sake. From the original promotional material:

I have a new album. It's called Kingdom Come.

Even the word 'album' is anachronistic. People seldom make albums (or records) anymore. I like both terms, and think they apply to this new work.

Kingdom Come is a record, because it documents a tumultuous time in my life: the dissolution of a nine-year marriage, followed swiftly by my son's leukemia diagnosis. [He recovered fully and is now 15 years cancer free.] It is an aural snapshot of a man grappling with terror and loss as well as a record of several musicians (and an engineer) interacting in a specific place at a certain time. That time has passed.

It's also an album. Like the individual pictures in a photo book, each song can be considered on its own, while at the same time contributing to a larger whole.
