Zeitgeist by Tom Langeloh

Zeitgeist is a German word literally translated as "the spirit of our time".
Who are we? What are we about? What are our guiding values and cultural imperatives at any given point in history? It was a question I was intensely interested in exploring and writing about. It seemed to me that underneath the corruption, the decadence, the greed and the plundering of the natural world was one common denominator : the self. I felt I was watching a profound shift of identification from the "we" to the "ME". there was a kind of deification of the individual self going on, in which self interest was demanded, self care our greatest virtue, and self gratification our sole pursuit.
This was terrifying to me then, and it's terrifying to me now. We don't need one more product that supposedly "empowers" us, we don't need more technology. We need connection, compassion, and love for one another, no matter who that "other" is. Corny? Perhaps. Romantic? If you say so. Our only chance for survival? Absolutely.

This album was recorded at Randy Green's studio in Cottage Grove , Wisconsin in the mid 1990's. It was an analog recording, live, one take, to two inch tape. Dave Fallow played all the great lead guitar parts. I did the rest.
