daybreak (single) by tom eaton
Watching the sun rise over the ocean is a meditation. We got up early, made the quick trip to the beach, and climbed up into an unoccupied lifeguard platform. I set my field recorder between us to protect it from the wind, and we watched the colors change as the sun slowly emerged from the water. Because I was recording the sound of the waves we didn't speak for several minutes, we just let the experience wash over us. The music emerged from the waves as well... the pacing and melody seemed to arrive as easily and surely as the sun.
