M_001 by Tisane

Melt is a selection of sound works dating back from 2005. Recorded directly to a minidisc in one sweeping improvised session, these pieces accompanied my wintery visit to Copenhagen where I wandered the streets with these sounds playing in my head. For some reason, they were very apt to my situation and surroundings. The works grew on me, almost playing a part in fixing my memory of a time in the northern city where I met many old friends and even though the cold prevailed, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm.

I decided to leave these works as is. No post production apart from slight mastering have been applied. The last piece, 'skate' did however get an added instrument recorded over the top; the piano and was used as the music for an animated short entitled, 'Soot Giant' created by Yves Geleyn.
