Snow falls
I fog up my windowpane
Time crawls
I’m late for work again

Each flake
Adrift on its wand’ring path
Floats down
Alights on the ground at last

I’m watching a snowglobe
Watching the snow take its time to fall
I gaze out my window
The world outside can’t touch me at all, can’t touch me at all

Boots on
I bid my home adieu
Roots gone
Snow hides the earth from view

Breathe in
Sweet snowy air, don’t waste it
Breathe out
Stick out my tongue and taste it

Now I’m in a snowglobe
Watching the snow take its time to fall
I smile at my neighbors
The outside world can’t touch us at all, can’t touch us at all

How can I keep this feeling that’s in me?
When the snow stops falling
Can I keep this serenity?

Hours pass
Snow keeps on tumbling down
At last
I head back to my hometown

Last flake
Lands on my nose and softens
Heartache
I’ll visit this memory often

I still see the snowglobe
