Almabtrieb by Thorium Heavy Industries Development Facilities
My deep love to the mountains and people of Bavaria and Austria has flown into this masterpiece. It´s one of my personal favorites. It is set in the time of 18th-19th century and is about the hard and bitter life of the cattle farmers and shepherd of the alps, trapped between strict religious believes and a life in bitter poverty. The disaster could strike at anytime and they have already seen many. The Almabtrieb (bringing the cattle home from the mountain farms in autumn) is a rare moment of joy, to thank Christ and the many Ghost of the mountains. A moment that gives hope, yet there isn´t. Their life, hard work from the first steps to final rest. Just stubbornness and superstitious believes kept them going. This track is an Anti-Heidi-Theme in many ways and on many layers. The bells of churches, the bells of cattle, the bells of doom, the voices of angles in the wind and open skies, the Sword of Damokles over their heads.

THIDF was originally founded back in 1999 and focused on Noise and Drone live sets. After dramatic changes in my life, the project rested, til 2014. I decided to revive it, as my love and designation to experimental music, especially Cold Drone, Dark Drone, Dark Ambient and the lack of immanence in this genre urges me to do something. The new wave of analog synth-tech enabled me to do so.
